Some of the soil exuded a petroleum odor, however PID readings <br /> were low or non-existent. The highest PID reading recorded from the stockpile was under <br /> 5 ppmv. A 4-point composite soil sample was collected. from the pile on January 31, <br /> 2014 and subjected to laboratory testing for the purpose of waste profiling. The sample <br /> was tested for gasoline hydrocarbons, BTEX compounds, and' total lead. No gasoline <br /> hydrocarbons were detected, but 0.005 mg/Kg of Ethylbenzene, and 0.020..mg/Kg of <br /> Xylene was detected. Lead was also not detected. The laboratory data sheets are attached <br /> in Appendix B. On March 12, 2014,. Jim Thorpe•Oil Inc. hauled two loads'of the material <br /> to the.Forward landfill in Manteca, a Class ILfacility licensed to accept this type of waste. <br /> Copies of the disposal documents are'attached in Appendix B. <br /> Spent-carbon previously contained.within the-.three,--1,000Lpound carbon filters:-was <br /> _ <br /> removed for recycling on November'-11,201-1~ The access port of each carbon canister <br /> was opened and the granular carbon was removed using a vacuum.hose. The carbon was <br /> temporarily stored in. 1,000-pound bags and hauled.to the.
