Former Manna Pro Site Page 3
Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report
Project No 207 2
• 12 November 1999
2.0 Preliminary Site Work
' The following two section describe work completed prior to the groundwater
monitoring event
' 2.1 Well Head Protection
' In the course of conducting a site reconnaissance, it was discovered that the
monitoring, observation, and extraction wells had sustained substantial damage
to their well boxes Consequently, Geo-Phase Environmental personnel
mobilized to the site with hack hammer equipment and removed 13 damaged
well boxes Each well was also equipped with a new sealing cap and lock
With the assistance of V&W Drilling, the wells were subsequently equipped with
new, 12 inch traffic rated well boxes , and each box was cemented into place
One well, located off of the Manna Pro site on the west side of E1 Dorado Street
ihad been damaged by being repeatedly run over by agricultural discing
equipment To help prevent similar future damage, a crash post was installed
near this well
2.2 Well Survey
During the course of reviewing the records related to this remedial investigation,
it was noted that the well elevations had never been tied to sea level In
addition, no evidence was found to suggest the existing wells had ever been
properly surveyed Moreover, a site reconnaissance suggested that several of the
well positions were incorrectly located on the existing site map To address this
situation, a licensed land surveyor was contacted to survey the well locations in
the vertical and lateral planes so that the groundwater monitoring maps would
accurately reflect field conditions Upon completion of the survey (see Appendix
C), it was found that many of the wells had been erroneously located on the
previously existing site maps Using the new survey, a revised site map was
created to accurately represent the well locations The maps attached to this
report reflect the results of the new survey
' 2937 Veneman Ave ,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone (209) 569-0293
Modesto, CA 95356 Fax (209) 569-0293
