' Corrective Action Plan Page 5
Former Manna Pro Site
' Project No 207 3
. February 16,2001
severely impacted by gasoline The well grid in this figure suggests that 10 of each type
of well are appropriate to mitigate the "core" of the contaminant plume
' 1.3.2 Scope of Work
' The tasks described in this Work Plan encompass the following principal elements
First Phase
• Install and operate a vapor extraction /-air sparge system The system will consist of
two sparge and one vapor extracts r- wo of`these-lis are already in place,
and it will only be necessary to dll one additional The gasoline-laden
' vapors removed from the extractioally with an activated
carbon filtration system If warranted, the carbon filters may be replaced with an
' internal combustion (IC) system to destroy the evolved air / fuel mixture by
combustion
• This system will be operated for up to 90 days for the purpose of obtaining additional
' engineering data to make any needed final design adjustments prior to construction of
the complete remedial system
• • Prepare an interim report that will document the activities mentioned above and
describe the results and their implications
• Continue quarterly groundwater monitoring, weekly monitoring of the remedial
system, including monthly measurements of groundwater depth and air sample
' collection
Second Phase
' The precise scope of the second phase will be dependent on the results of the first phase
It is expected that a supplement to this Work Plan will be prepared that details the work
' to be completed in the second phase Based on current thinking, however, the following
items are likely to be included
' • Drill and construct about 8 additional sparge wells and 9 additional vapor extraction
wells
• Obtain the surface equipment needed to operate the sparge and vapor extraction wells
' This will include the installation of necessary conveyance piping and manifold system
centrally located to assure adequate control of the remedial system
• Continue quarterly groundwater monitoring, weekly monitoring of the remedial
' system, including monthly measurements of groundwater depth and air sample
collection
• Prepare a report of the installation of the remedial system Also complete four
additional quarterly reports of the operation of the system
' 2937 Veneman Ave,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone(209)569-0293
Modesto,CA 95356 Fax(209)569-0295
