' Report-Pilot Remedial System Test Page 14 <br /> Former Manna Pro Site <br />' Project No 207 3 <br /> July 31,2000 <br />' on May 30, and was operated for about 42 hours before the pilot test was terminated on <br /> lune 1, 2000 <br /> 4.3 Pilot System Monitoring <br />' The pilot system was monitored during the course of the investigation System <br /> monitoring included measuring and recording the depth to groundwater, pressure (or <br /> vacuum) at the well heads of nearby air monitoring wells, and measurement of air flow, <br />' rates of air sparging, and of vapor extraction Vapor concentrations in the extracted air <br /> were measured using a portable ionization detector (PID), and three samples of the <br /> extracted air were submitted for laboratory analysis Copies of the field data are attached <br />' in tabular form in Summary Tables 3 through 6 <br /> 4.3.1 Process/Effluent Air Monitoring <br />' Gasoline vapor concentrations in the extracted air were monitored with a portable <br /> ionization detector (PID) Samples of the process vapor were collected from a sample <br />' cock in the air flow line between the vapor extraction well, VEW-1 and the ICE Field air <br /> flow and vacuum/pressure measurements are shown in Summary Tables 3 & 4 Samples <br /> for laboratory analysis of TPH-G and BTEX were collected shortly after the system was <br /> first started up, and again a day before the end of the test and just prior to the final <br /> shutdown of the system The laboratory data sheets are attached as Appendix A-2 <br /> 4.3.2 Vacuum/Flow/Pressure Monitoring <br /> Vacuum flow and pressure monitoring measurements were made on a periodic basis <br /> during the operation of the pilot system Air flow measurements were made at the time of <br /> any flow adjustment to the air sparge or vapor extraction system A multi-function meter <br />' was used to measure flow Magnahelic gauges were attached to the vapor extraction <br /> piping and air monitoring well heads to continuously measure pressure and vacuum Due <br /> to the fact that screened intervals in the groundwater monitoring wells were below the <br />' groundwater surface, no air flow measurements were made from the nearby monitoring <br /> wells Air flow data from field measurements is attached as Table 3 Vapor extraction <br /> and air sparge vacuum and pressure data are attached as Table 4 <br />' 4.3.3 In-Situ Groundwater Parameter Monitoring <br />' The pilot system monitoring included measuring oxygen levels in the various observation <br /> wells and MW-6 on a daily basis and recording the depth to groundwater in all 5 <br /> observation wells, EW-1, MW-1, MW-6 and on selected occasions in the sparge and <br /> vapor extraction wells as shown in Summary Tables 5 and 6, respectively Dissolved <br />' 2937 Venernan Ave,#6240 Gco-Phase Environmental Inc Phone(209)569-0293 <br /> Modesto, CA 95356 Fax (209)569-0295 <br /> 1 <br />
