El Dorado Street <br />' Stockton, California <br />' Project No 207 2 <br /> June 2, 2000 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Groundwater monitoring wells were installed at the site at various Mmes from <br /> 1990 to 1993 During the most recent quarter, Geo-Phase Environmental <br /> constructed a new, "deep" monitoring well to help characterize the vertical <br />' distribution of gasoline in the sub-surface This is the third monitoring event <br /> completed by Geo-Phase for this site This report documents the new well <br />' construction as well as this round of groundwater monitoring and sampling <br /> completed on April 26, 2000 <br /> 11 Site History <br /> Two 10,000 gallon underground diesel tanks and two 5,000 gallon underground <br /> gasoline tanks and a single 10,000 gallon underground gasoline tank formerly in <br /> use at the site were removed in 1990 Confirmation soil samples collected from <br /> the tank pit contained elevated levels of gasoline and diesel range petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons Subsequently, several thousand yards of impacted soil were <br /> excavated and removed to help mitigate the release In October of 1990, ERM <br /> West conducted additional work to characterize the lateral and vertical extent of <br />' the hydrocarbon contamination in the sub-surface This included installing 25 <br /> soil borings into groundwater of which, a total of 6 borings were later converted <br /> to groundwater monitoring wells Later, Groundwater Technology Inc (GTI) <br /> installed four additional monitoring wells, a combination groundwater/vapor <br /> 2937 Veneman Ave,#13240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone (209) 569-0293 <br /> Modesto, CA 95356 Fax(209) 569-0295 <br />
