El Dorado <br /> Stockton, California <br /> 1 dune 18,2002 <br /> Project No 207 3 <br /> 1 On behalf of Manna Pro Corporation, Geo-Phase Environmental Inc constructed the first <br /> . phase of an engineered remedial system intended to begin the process of mitigating a <br /> 1 large gasoline contaminant mass that has impacted the soil and groundwater under the <br /> site The remedial system consists of simultaneous operation of a soil vapor extraction <br /> system (VES) and an air infection (sparge) system The combined system involved one <br /> vapor extraction well and two sparge wells covering a portion of the affected area The <br /> system was constructed and successfully operated for over three months beginning on <br /> February 14, 2002 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> 1 Field work and groundwater monitoring completed at the site since 1990 show that <br /> former leaking underground storage tanks impacted the soil and groundwater with <br />' gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons Based on an estimate described in our report of <br /> October 20, 2000 entitled Report - Remedial Action Feasibility Studx, there are about <br /> 22,000 pounds gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons in the adsorbed phase and about <br /> 1 460 pounds in the dissolved phase associated with this release Essentially all of the <br /> contaminant mass is resident beneath the groundwater surface Based on the results of a <br /> Feasibility Study, Geo-Phase Environmental, concluded that a combination of air <br /> sparging and soil vapor extraction was the method most likely to adequately mitigate the <br /> release on a cost effective basis The following sections document the construction and <br /> 90 days of operation of the first phase of a remedial system designed pursuant to the <br /> results of the Feasibility Study and a subsequent Corrective Action Plan <br /> Igo) <br />' 2937 Veneman Ave ,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone(209)569-0293 <br /> Modesto,CA 95356 Fax(209)569-0295 <br />
