More recently, a deep monitoring well (MW-11) was constructed
4 in April of 2000, and then abandoned in July of 2001. Quarterly groundwater
monitoringhas been conducted at the site since the first wells were

constructed. This report documents a quarterly round of groundwater
` monitoring and sampling completed on March 22, 2002.
1.1 Site History #
Two 10,000-gallon underground diesel tanks and two 5,000-gallon
underground gasoline tanks and a single 10,000-gallon underground gasoline
tank formerly in use at the site were removed in 1990. Confirmation soil
samples collected from the tank pit contained elevated levels of gasoline and
diesel range petroleum hydrocarbons. Subsequently, several thousand yards
• of impacted soil were exacted and removed to help mitigate the release.
In October of 1990, ERM West conducted additional work to characterize the
lateral and vertical extent of the hydrocarbon contamination in the sub- r
surface. This included installing 25 soil borings into groundwater of which, a `
*: total of & borings were later converted to groundwater monitoring wells.
i -
2937 Veneman Ave.,#13240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
