' Report—Vapor Extraction/Air Sparge Remedial System Pae 3 <br /> P P P g Y g <br /> Former Manna Pro Site <br /> l <br /> Project No 207 3 <br /> ie September 26,2003 <br />' mitigating the release, but that additional engineering data was needed before large sums <br /> of money should be committed <br />' On June 18, 2002, Geo-Phase Environmental Inc issued a document entitled Report, <br /> Corrective Action, First Phase Remedial System Installation & Operation This report <br /> documented the construction and 90 days of operation of the first phase of the final <br /> t remedial system This system consisted of a single vapor extraction well and two air <br /> sparge wells and the associated surface equipment and pipe runs <br /> tThe first phase of system operation was deemed successful in removing at least 600 <br /> pounds of gasoline petroleum hydrocarbons from the subsurface Based on the results of <br />' the work, an addendum to the CAP was prepared on August 12, 2002 that recommended <br /> certain changes the final system The LOP agency accepted the addendum and work a <br /> budget was prepared to cover the anticipated costs, and the California Underground <br />' Storage Tank Clean-up Fund approved the costs on February 13, 2003 Construction of <br /> the system commenced on April 7, 2003 <br />' 1.2 Scope of Work <br /> The tasks described below were completed during this phase of work <br /> r • Renamed the vapor extraction well VEW-1 as VEW B-2 <br /> • Drilled and constructed 8 new sparge wells and 10 new vapor extraction wells <br /> r • Installed the surface equipment needed to operate the new sparge and vapor extraction <br /> wells and one previously constructed vapor extractor This included the installation <br /> of necessary conveyance piping and manifold system centrally located to assure <br /> radequate control of the remedial system <br /> r <br /> r <br /> r <br /> r <br /> • <br /> r2937 Veneman Ave, #13240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc Phone (209)569-0293 <br /> Modesto, CA 95356 Fax(209)569-0295 <br /> r <br />
