2.p KEY PERSONNEL <br /> The organization and responsibilities for implementing safe project <br /> activities, and more specifically the requirements contained in this HSP, <br /> are discussed in this section. <br /> The key personnel for this project are: <br /> • Director, Internal Health and Safety (DIHS) <br /> • Task Manager/Site Health and Safety Officer (TM/HSO) <br /> • Field Personnel <br /> 2.1 DIRECTOR, INTERNAL HEALTH AND SAFETY <br /> ERM's DIHS is the individual responsible for the preparation, <br /> interpretation and modification of this HSP. Modifications to this HSP <br /> which may result in less stringent precautions cannot be undertaken by <br /> the TM/HSO without the approval of the DIHS. <br /> Specific responsibilities of the DIHS include: <br /> • Advising the TM/HSO on matters relating to health and safety on <br /> this project; <br /> • Recommending appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and <br /> air monitoring instrumentation to protect personnel from potential <br /> hazards present on site; <br /> • Performing field audits,when necessary, to monitor compliance with <br /> the HSP and its effectiveness; <br /> • Conducting or directing personal exposure monitoring, where <br /> required and where deemed necessary, to determine the adequacy of <br /> protective measures and PPE specified by this HSP; <br /> • Maintaining contact with the TM/HSO to regularly evaluate project <br /> conditions and new information that might require modification to <br /> this HSP; <br /> • Working with the TM/HSO to ensure that sufficient PPE is available <br /> at the site; and <br /> • Conducting briefing meetings,when necessary, to apprise personnel <br /> of the contents of this HSP and the project hazards. <br /> 5164.00-3/4/03 <br /> ERM 3 <br /> 2 <br /> HASP CANON <br />
