Continuous Release Detection Method (CRDM)
One (1) SWRI 93-01 listed Trusco maker & brand Aboveground Storage Tank, which is: (1)
Elevated AST with (2) Integral Double-Wall Secondary Containment on Aboveground Storage
Tank (3) Overfill protection, electronic product inventory monitoring and visual inspections
being performed, (4) continuous mechanical float gauge leak detection.
Spill Protection
Product off load area is contained by Spill Containment Operations in which filler uses camlock
connections, with overfill containment bucket for overfill operations, At time of inspection
there was no known shut down device or limiting devices, such as Morrison Bros or a Guillotine
fill limiting devices as a further protection against overfilling. .
Overfill Prevention
(1)Ullage Logs (2)Ullage Monitor(3) Baker Box Overfill Container
Report of Findings
Tank Containment
This Clear Diesel Fuel Tank is
located on a concrete pad. The
Aboveground Storage Tank is
SwRI 93-01 Tank, listed as
Aboveground Storage Tank for
Flammable Liquids, under SwRI
103 93-01 Standard for Protected
Tanks with an Integral Secondary
Containment Aboveground
Storage Tank (AST). The general
condition of the primary
" containment is good and the
secondary containment vessel is in
good shape without any evidence
of leaks, fractures, or corrosion
affecting containment. There are
areas of minor to moderate to substantial corrosion with the Body of the tank that should
be repainted soon as part of the ongoing & normal preventative maintenance operations.
The corrosion is external only, as located in this tank and has not impacted the steel
thickness of the outer shell. The corrosion on the supports does not impact the integrity of
the supports in any fashion, but should be monitored and if the corrosion worsens, then
that issue should be addressed, the corrosion removed and the supports repainted. This
external corrosion does not currently impact the stability of the tank nor the containment
integrity of the tank. Oct 18, 2019: Tank has been repainted & corrosion has been removed
