Sediments of this formation consist of unconsolidated clay, silt, and <br /> sand (Wagner, et al., 1987). <br /> The site is in the Eastern San Joaquin County.Ground-Water Basin, (California <br /> Department of Water Resources, 1980. According to this reference, the g;ound-water <br /> basin has been developed for intensive irrigation, domestic, industrial, municipal, and <br /> stock use. Based on regional maps prepared from 1988 groundwater data by San <br /> Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, we expect the depth to <br /> ground water near the site to be appro3dmately SO feet below grade With a regional <br /> direction cif flow to the southwest.:' <br /> PROPOSED WORK 6 �L <br /> The purpose of this investigation is to assess the presence of hydrocarbons in soil <br /> beneath the site and the feasibility of vapor recovery beneath the site. We will conduct <br /> the following tasks: <br /> o Obtain a drilling permit from the San Joaquin Public Health Services <br /> (SJPHS). <br /> o Contact Underground Service Alert at least 48 hours before drilling to <br /> identify public utility lines at the site. <br /> o Observe drilling of four 8-inch-diameter soil borings near the gasoline- <br /> storage tanks. <br /> 4 <br /> Applied Igeosyetems <br />
