w
ME
x
Work Plan Mav 17, 1991
ARCO Service Station No.2130, Stockton, California AGS k0034W
o Observe drilling of three 10-inch-diameter soil borings to approximately 25
feet north of the station building and installation of three vapor-extraction
wells in the borings. The screened interval of the wells will extend 10 to
25 feet below grade if hydrocarbons are not detected using the PID in the
borings around the existing tank cavity. If hydrocarbons are detected using
the PID below 2S feet, the screened interval and depth of the vapor wells
will be adjusted accordingly.
o Collect relatively undisturbed soil samples from each boring at Hoot
intervals or other appropriate intervals from the ground surface to the total
boring depth and classify the samples according to the Unified Soil
Classification System. ✓ / /lam/,J Tom'_`
o Submit soil samples to a laboratory approved by.ARCO for analysis of
total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) and benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, and total xylene isomers (BTEX).
o Collect four discrete soil samples from the drill cuttings to be composited
into one sample. We will apprise pprise ARCO of disposal options after receiving
laboratory analyses.
o Transport a portable vapor-extraction system to the site.
o Operate the vaporextraction system as required to obtain vapor samples
f and vacuum pressure and flow rate information.
o Submit vapor samples to a laboratory approved by ARCO for analyses of
TPHg and ETEX.
o Prepare a report summarizing our methods, interpretations, conclusions
and make recommendations including the feasibility of conducting a VET
at the site.
.4P,v/led Ceoys`ems
