If possible, drill cuttings exhibiting subjective evidence of gasoline <br /> hydrocarbons or producing a positive response on the PID will be separated from those <br /> drill cuttings evaluated as having no gasoline hydrocarbons. At ARCO's request,we will <br /> submit soil samples to the GSX Lokern Facility in Buttonwillow, California, for a profile <br /> analysis. ARCO will be responsible for the disposal of the cuttings. We will apprise <br /> ARCO of disposal options after receiving laboratory analyses. <br /> LABORATORY ANALYSES OF SOIL SAMPL.FS <br /> Soil samples collected at 10- to 15-foot intervals and the two bottom samples from each <br /> boring will be submitted to a laboratory approved by ARCO and certified by the State of <br /> California_ Soil samples will be analyzed for TPHg by Environmental Protection Agency <br /> (EPA) Extraction Methods 5030 and Preparation Method 8015 and BTEX by modified <br /> EPA Method 8020. The sample collected nearest the leaded gasoline tank will.also be <br /> analyzed for total lead by EPA Method 6010. <br /> REPORT PREPARATION <br /> We will prepare a report summarizing our field methods,laboratory procedures, <br /> laboratory results, conclusions, and recommendations.
