1 <br /> rff,'A <br /> Working to Restore Nature <br /> 1 <br /> monitoring well, and the engineering design, permitting, construction, and start-up of a <br /> combination vapor extraction and air sparge remediation system <br /> 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND <br /> 22=1 General <br /> 1 <br /> ARCO Service Station 2130 is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of <br /> Hammer Lane and El Dorado Street in Stockton, California, as shown on Plate 1, Site <br /> Vicinity Map The site is located in an area of commercial and residential development and <br />' is bound by North El Dorado Street on the west, Hammer Lane to the south, and the <br /> property lines to the north and east The site is an operating retail gasoline service station <br /> and mini-mart and is predominantly covered by asphalt and concrete The location of the <br /> existing monitoring wells,vapor extraction wells,station building, underground storage tanks <br /> (USTs), and other pertinent features are shown on Plate 2, Generalized Site Plan <br /> According to information supplied by ARCO, there were four USTs at the site two 4,000- <br /> gallon and one 10,000-gallon tanks stored unleaded gasoline and one 6,000-gallon tank <br /> stored super unleaded gasoline During August and September 1993, the four USTs and <br /> product lines were removed and replaced with four new, double wall, 10,000-gallon <br /> fiberglass USTs The new USTs were placed in the same approximate location as the <br /> former USTs (Plate 2) The work was performed under the direction of Roux and <br /> I <br /> Associates <br /> 30003-i3 2 <br />
