MONITORING WELL PURGING
On 04 August 1997, the water level in monitoring wells MW-1 though MW-6 was measured
relative to the top of the well casings using a Solinst water level meter. After water levels were
measured, approximately three gallons of water(a minimum of three well volumes) were removed
from air-sparging well VW-2 and approximately 6 gallons of water (a minimum of three well
volumes) were removed from ground water monitoring wells MW-2, MW-3 and MW-5 using a
- submersible PVC pump. Temperature, pH and conductivity (stabilization data) were measured at .
one-gallon intervals during purging using an ICM model 52200 water analyzer. Stabilization data
and field logs are included in Appendix A. Purged water was stored on-site in 55-gallon drums.
2.2. SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
Water samples were collected from the purged wells using new disposable plastic bailers. The
collected samples were transferred into 40-ml.EPA-approved VON vials. The samples were labeled,
logged on a chain-of-custody form, placed in a chilled container and transported to McCampbell
Analytical, Inc.
