I
13 October 1997
AGE Project No. 95-0118
Analytical results of ground water samples are summarized in Table 2-Analytical Results of Ground
f
Water=Samples. The laboratory report(MAI Lab ID 79475 to.79478), QA/QC report and chain-of-
custody are included as Appendix B.
4.0. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
4.1. CONCLUSIONS
Based upon results of ground water monitoring well sampling, AGE concludes the following:
• The relative ground water elevation has decreased an average 2.5 feet during the last quarter.
• The hydrocarbon .concentrations in the dissolved plume appears to have dropped in
monitoring well MW-2 by at least one order of magnitude.
• The concentrations of dissolved hydrocarbons in MW-3 have remained essentially stable
since the previous monitoring event.
:=} The hydrocarbon concentrations in air-sparging well VW-2increased by approximately an
order of magnitude for BTE&X compounds and TPH-g since the previous sampling event.
4.2. RECOMMENDATIONS
- Based upon the results of the investigation, AGE recommendations the following:
• The next quarterly ground water sampling event should be conducted in October of 1997.
• Feasibility testing has indicated that in-situ air sparging (IAS), combined with soil vapor
extraction; would be a cost-effective remediation method for this site. We recommend the
installation of an SVE/IAS system, pending approval of cost recovery from the California
Water Resources Control Board,
5.0. The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory.
