This report details the
activities performed during the fii-St quarter of 1995 at 1050 Elkhorn Drive in Stockton,
`> California (the site). Each monitoring well at the site was purged and sampled. The location
of the site as illustrated in Figure 1. A plan of the site is illustrated in Figure,2.
2.0. BACKGROUND
'r;= r 2.1. SITE LOCATION
Elkhorn Country Club"is located in a flat rurallresidential area north of Stockton, in San
L.
Joaquin County, California {Figure 1). The area of ins estigatron is located east of the F'ro
Shop, immediately adjacent to the maintenance building (Figu-re 2).
2.2. UST REMOVAL
It is our understanding that one 1,000-gallon.gasoline underground storage tank (UST) was
removed from the site in 1991. Two soil samples were collected frons beneath the tank in
depths of 10 and 10.5 feet. The samples were analyzed by a state-certified laboratory for
total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH as gasoline),volatile aroinatics (BTE&X), total lead and
ethylene dibroniide (EDB). No EDB or lead were detected in the samples. However; TPH
as gasoline and volatile aromatics were detected in the soil samples at concentrations up to
480 parts per million (pprlr).
2.3. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND ASSESSMENT
On 20 June 1994, one soil boring (B-1) was drilled at the site. The boring was drilled near
> advanced to a depth of 3S
the center of the former underground stoiaQc, Lank {UST), and a p
feet. TPH as gasoline and BTERX were detected at depths between 25 and 35 feet. During
drilling, ground water was encountered at 36 feet. Therefore, assessment of the hydrocarbon
release in the ground water was warranted and three monitoring wells Were installed at the
