Mr. Travena's inspection reports concerned work <br /> needed to bring the City's LISTS into compliance with current regulations. Your letter <br /> concerned the need to properly close an 18,400 gallon diesel UST site adjacent to the <br /> City's Public Safety Building. The purpose of this letter is to respond to both the <br /> inspection reports and your letter. <br /> With respect to your letter, you requested that a closure in place proposal for the 18,400 <br /> gallon diesel tank and a copy of the sampling and analytical data from the two <br /> groundwater monitoring wells be provided by June 4, 1998. This information was <br /> provided in a letter dated May 20, 1998. In addition, another copy of the sampling data <br /> including chain of custody paperwork was provided to Jeffrey Wong during a meeting on <br /> June 4, 1998. You also requested that a current groundwater sample be taken in the <br /> presence of Jeffrey Wong. Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. has been retained to <br /> sample the wells and provide the analysis. They will be contacting Mr. Wong to <br /> schedule the required testing this week. <br /> Two inspections reports were received. One each for 230 W. Elm Street and 1331 S. <br /> Ham Lane. The report for 230 W. Elm Street listed eight (8) items. The following <br /> responses are provided to those eight items: <br /> Item #1 - Diesel UST has not be properly closed . City to provide closure proposal by <br /> June 4, 1998. Response - Proposal provided in City letter dated May 20, 1998. <br /> Item #2 - Test leak detection monitoring equipment by June 4'" and submit verification <br /> by June 11'". Response - Contracted with Shields-Harper to conduct required testing. <br /> Testing conducted on June 41 and written verification is attached. <br /> Item #3 - Perform annual line test by June 4t' and submit results by June 11" <br /> UST <br />
