4 03 June 2002
AGE-NC Project No. 97-0360
3.2. GROUND WATER GRADIENT.AND FLOW DIRECTION
At the time of the February 2002 sampling event, depths to ground water in wells MW 1 through
MW5 and EW1 ranged from 6.65 feet to 8.61 feet below the well heads. Ground water elevations
r at the site ranged from 3.79 feet above mean sea level(MSL)in well MW2 to 4.44 feet above MSL
in well EW 1 (Table 1).
The ground water flow direction was inferred using ground water elevation data from the monitoring
wells on-site. Well MW2 was not used in ground water flow direction or gradient determination
= because it is screened at a deeper interval than the other wells. The flow direction was inferred to be
toward the west-southwest at a gradient of 0.003 feetifeet.Figure 3 illustrates the contoured ground
water elevations as measured on 11 February 2002.
3.3. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES
A total of 11 soil samples were analyzed for TPH-g,TPH-d,BTEX,MTBE and seven fuel additives.
j TPH-g was detected in the soil samples collected frozxl MW1, MW3, MW4, MW5 and EW1 at
10 feet bs at concentrations as hi as 160 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg). TPH-d was detected
g p ' ( fig)
in the same samples, with the exception of EW I,at concentrations as high as 3,800 mg/kg.No other
analytes were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the soil samples analyzed. The
approximate extent of impacted soil is depicted on Figures 4 and 5.
jAnalytical results of soil samples are summarized on Table 2.The laboratory reports(CTEL Lab I.D.
Nos. 0202-002-1 through 0202-002-11), quality assurance and quality control(QA/QC)report and
chain-of-custody forms are included in Appendix E.
';- 3.4. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in the ground water samples collected from all the wells sampled, with the
exception of MW3 at concentrations as high as 380 micrograms per liter(µg/l). No other analytes
- were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the ground water samples.
The analytical results of ground water samples are summarized on Table 3. The laboratory reports
(CTEL Lab I.D.Nos. 0202-050-1 through 0202-050-6), QA/QC report and chain-of-custody form
are included in Appendix F.
--rte
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
L=
