After collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a
chilled container, and transported under chain of custody to Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories
- (CTEL), a California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certifted analytical laboratory. The
samples were analyzed for.
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) and diesel (TPH-d) in
accordance with EPA Method 8015M; and
,.. FINDINGS
Ground water elevation, flow direction, and gradient were determined from field data collected on
01 September 2005. The hydrocarbon-impact to groundwater was quantified from laboratory
analysis of the ground water samples.
V!
{{ j
3.1. GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
FJ
At the time of the September 2005 sampling event, depths to ground water in wells MW-1 through
,l
MW-5 and EW-1 ranged from 7.10 feet(EW-1)to 9.45 feet(MW-2)belowthe well heads.Average
F;
ground water elevation at the site(excluding MW-2)was approximately 3.99 feet above mean sea
level(MSL;Table 1). Ground water elevations at the site increased an average of 1.90 feet since the
June 2005 monitoring event.
The ground water flow direction was inferred using ground water elevation data from the monitoring
wells on-site. Well MW-2 was not used to determine ground water flow direction or gradient
' because it is screened at a deeper interval than the other wells. Ground water flow was inferred to
be flowing toward the southwest at a gradient of approximately 0.005 foot/foot (ft/ft). Figure 3
illustrates the contoured ground water elevations as measured on 01 September 2005.
3.2. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
No analytes were detected at or above Iaboratory reporting limits in any of the ground water samples
Advanced GeoEnvironmento],Inc.
I
:i
