❑ Witness secondary containment testing of installed components (sumps, UDCs, <br />piping) after returning the system to the operating condition. <br />❑ Overfill prevention verification: Measurement of drop tubes to verify 95% tank volume <br />shut off and/or verification that external audible/visual alarm activates when tank is <br />90% full. <br />❑ Spill bucket test: Verify minimum 5 -gallon capacity and pass a one hour hydrostatic <br />test (or equivalent). Proper drainage method must be verified. <br />❑ Monitoring system functionality prior to fuel delivery: Functionality of the monitoring <br />system must be verified to ensure it meets the requirements of Title 23 California <br />Code of Regulations and the Health & Safety Code. Verification of tank annular brine <br />levels and tank annular brine sensor's functionality. <br />❑ Leak detector test: Leak detector must be tested to confirm that the device can detect <br />a leak of 3 gallons per hour at 10 psi. <br />❑ Monitoring system functionality: Functionality of the monitoring system must be <br />verified to ensure it meets the requirements of Title 23 California Code of Regulations <br />and the Health & Safety Code <br />❑ Final inspection and demonstration of automatic shut -downs. <br />4. Qualified installers must possess or work under the direct and personal supervision of <br />an individual physically present at the work site, at all times while work is being <br />performed, who possesses all of the following: <br />• One of several permissible valid, current contractor's licenses issued by the <br />Contractors State License Board (may be issued to the installation company), and <br />• A valid, current UST Installation/Retrofitting certificate issued by the International <br />Code Council (ICC), and <br />• A valid, current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s) of the component(s) <br />being installed, additionally, <br />• Each person installing or testing any component must hold a certificate of training <br />from the manufacturer of that component. <br />Qualified service technicians must possess or work under the direct and personal <br />supervision of an individual physically present at the work site, at all times while work is <br />being performed, who possesses all of the following: <br />• One of several permissible valid, current contractor licenses issued by the <br />Contractors State License Board (may be issued to the installation <br />company), and <br />• A valid, current California UST Service Technician certificate issued by the <br />International Code Council (ICC), and <br />• A valid, current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s) of the component(s) <br />being tested, repaired, or serviced, additionally, <br />• Each person installing or testing any component must hold a certificate of training <br />from the manufacturer of that component. <br />6. All primary containment including any integral secondary containment system must be <br />certified by an independent testing organization and labeled as required by the <br />organization (Title 23 Chapter 16, 2631(b); (UL, ULC, ANSI, API, ASTM, etc. See Title <br />23 Chapter 16 Table B for complete list.) Pursuant to Underwriters Laboratories Inc (UL) <br />listing requirements, only those products bearing the UL mark will be considered listed. <br />ANY PART/PRODUCT NOT MARKED WITH THE UL LABEL OR ANOTHER LISTED <br />TESTING ORGANIZATION WILL BE REJECTED. All secondary containment system <br />which is not an integral part of the primary containment shall be designed and <br />constructed according to an engineering specification approved by a state registered <br />professional engineer or according to a nationally recognized industry code or <br />engineering standard (Title 23 Chapter 16, 2631(d)). <br />7. Maintain continuous monitoring of the UST's interstitial space during the tank top upgrade <br />activities, unless these tanks are put in a temporary closure for the duration of the <br />installation activities. <br />8.
