❑ Witness secondary containment testing of installed components (sumps, UDCs, piping) after returning the system to the operating condition. ❑ Overfill prevention verification: Measurement of drop tubes to verify 95% tank volume shut off and/or verification that external audible/visual alarm activates when tank is 90% full. ❑ Spill bucket test: Verify minimum 5 -gallon capacity and pass a one hour hydrostatic test (or equivalent). Proper drainage method must be verified. ❑ Monitoring system functionality prior to fuel delivery: Functionality of the monitoring system must be verified to ensure it meets the requirements of Title 23 California Code of Regulations and the Health & Safety Code. Verification of tank annular brine levels and tank annular brine sensor's functionality. ❑ Leak detector test: Leak detector must be tested to confirm that the device can detect a leak of 3 gallons per hour at 10 psi. ❑ Monitoring system functionality: Functionality of the monitoring system must be verified to ensure it meets the requirements of Title 23 California Code of Regulations and the Health & Safety Code ❑ Final inspection and demonstration of automatic shut -downs. 4. Qualified installers must possess or work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the work site, at all times while work is being performed, who possesses all of the following: • One of several permissible valid, current contractor's licenses issued by the Contractors State License Board (may be issued to the installation company), and • A valid, current UST Installation/Retrofitting certificate issued by the International Code Council (ICC), and • A valid, current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s) of the component(s) being installed, additionally, • Each person installing or testing any component must hold a certificate of training from the manufacturer of that component. Qualified service technicians must possess or work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the work site, at all times while work is being performed, who possesses all of the following: • One of several permissible valid, current contractor licenses issued by the Contractors State License Board (may be issued to the installation company), and • A valid, current California UST Service Technician certificate issued by the International Code Council (ICC), and • A valid, current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s) of the component(s) being tested, repaired, or serviced, additionally, • Each person installing or testing any component must hold a certificate of training from the manufacturer of that component. 6. All primary containment including any integral secondary containment system must be certified by an independent testing organization and labeled as required by the organization (Title 23 Chapter 16, 2631(b); (UL, ULC, ANSI, API, ASTM, etc. See Title 23 Chapter 16 Table B for complete list.) Pursuant to Underwriters Laboratories Inc (UL) listing requirements, only those products bearing the UL mark will be considered listed. ANY PART/PRODUCT NOT MARKED WITH THE UL LABEL OR ANOTHER LISTED TESTING ORGANIZATION WILL BE REJECTED. All secondary containment system which is not an integral part of the primary containment shall be designed and constructed according to an engineering specification approved by a state registered professional engineer or according to a nationally recognized industry code or engineering standard (Title 23 Chapter 16, 2631(d)). 7. Maintain continuous monitoring of the UST's interstitial space during the tank top upgrade activities, unless these tanks are put in a temporary closure for the duration of the installation activities. 8.
