Lvnn Forcum - 2 - 3 March 2005
• Staff recommended evaluation of the chemical concentration trends as part of the analysis of the
area hydrogeology.
• I provided copies of recently performed grab groundwater sampling performed at the Reiter
property for the City of Lathrop's Report of Waste Discharge. (An unrelated project that happens
to be located near the CNP facility).
• I informed them that the wells located at the facility P-I through P-3 might be appropriate
monitoring points based on the results of Kleinfelder's hydrogeologic evaluation.
In the meeting you described two proposed well locations. Location No. I is located at a business called
"Dragon Products"but it is located near the on-site septic tank leachfield, making the site undesirable.
Location No. 2 is at a business called "Mid Valley Plastering"and potential on-site contaminant source
areas have not yet been evaluated. Both proposed well locations are within the proposed future Land
Application Area No. 43 for the City of Lathrop MBR wastewater treatment facility so they might not be
acceptable. I stressed the importance of developing an understanding of the hydrogeologic conditions of
the area prior to selecting the upgradient well location.
I agreed to an informal extension for the submittal of the groundwater monitoring well workplan of 45
days to 18 April 2005. The workplan should present the hydrogeologic conditions as support for
selection of a new well location.
Further review of the RWD is delayed pending installation of the upgradient well.
