O1 April 2004
AGE -NC Project No. 03-1055
soil possibly associated with the Panetta site is located beneath Adams Street. A portion of the
contaminated soil is potentially sourced from the former, up gradient Chevron site west of the site,
and is inaccessible at this time. Data indicated that soil samples collected from the walls of the
excavations had no petroleum hydrocarbon compounds detection at or above laboratory reporting
limits in the most recent excavation. The excavation was backfilled and compacted with clean fill
material under the supervision of a certified soil engineer.
Hydrocarbon -impacted ground water on site is limited to the western boundary of the property, in
the area of former monitoring wells MW -2 and MW -3. If needed, AGE intends to evaluate the
remediation hydrocarbon impacted ground water on site through ground water extraction techniques
or other in-situ techniques. The duration of the remediation activities is dependent upon results of
future quarterly monitoring events. Quarterly ground water monitoring will occur once the new
monitoring wells are installed and should be scheduled quarterly until directed otherwise.
The preparation of additional ground water monitoring reports, a site model or a remediation plan
is contingent on the installation of the additional monitoring wells, continued ground water
monitoring and trend analysis of the data collected.
Lfyou have any questions or require additional information, please contact Ms. Donna Sexton or the
undersigned at {209} 467-1006.
Sincerely,
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
Ro ert E. Marty
Project Geologist/Director of Operations
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
