• <br />21 August 2003 <br />AGE -NC Project No 03-1055 <br />Page 5 of 10 <br />Soil samples will be collected from within the 8 25 -inch hollow -stem augers at five --foot intervals <br />using a California split -spoon sampler and brass sleeves Selected soil samples will be analyzed by <br />a State of California DHS -certified laboratory for the following constituents <br />Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d) in <br />accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified, <br />Volatile aromatic hydrocarbons benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and total xylene (BTEX) <br />in accordance with EPA Method 8260 and <br />The oxygenated compounds di -isopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl tertiary -butyl ether (ETBE), <br />methyl tertiary -butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary -amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butanol <br />(TBA), methanol, ethanol, ethylene dibromide (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2 -DCA) in <br />accordance with EPA Method 8260 <br />Selected soil samples may also be analyzed for intrinsic permeability, moisture content, porosity and <br />total organic carbon (TOC) in accordance with the appropriate EPA or ASTM methods <br />Laboratory reports of both soil and ground water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality <br />assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be <br />presented in a report <br />2 6 MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION <br />The soil bonngs will be completed as a single -level ground water monitoring wells screened from <br />5 to 20 feet bsg Following installation, the wells will be developed to maximize water flow and <br />minimize the amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping or bailing, and <br />the top of each existing and newly installed well casing (well head) will be surveyed to determine <br />its elevation relative to mean sea level Procedures for well installation, development and survey are <br />presented in Section 3 3 <br />2 7 GROUND WATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS <br />Following the installation of the new monitoring wells, ground water monitoring and sampling <br />activities will be conducted for all the monitoring wells on a quarterly basis for a minimum of one <br />year (four sampling events), monitoring activities will include recording depth to ground water <br />measurements and collection of ground water samples for laboratory analysis by a DHS -certified <br />laboratory for the same analytes noted in Section 2 5 2 Ground water sample collection protocols <br />are described in Section 3 4 <br />Advanced GeoEnvironmentai, Inc <br />
