31 August 2000
AGE-NC Project No 00-0725
Table 1 summarizes the analytical data of the soil samples analyzed
TPH-g was detected In all grab ground water samples at concentrations ranging from 370 µg/l
(sample B1-H2O) to 55,000 gg/1 (sample 133-H2O) Benzene was detected in four of five grab
ground water samples at concentrations ranging from 0 54 µg/1 in (sample B 1-H2O) to 160 dug/1
(sample B3-H20) Toluene, ethyl benzene and xylenes were detected in grab ground water samples
at concentrations ranging from 1 9 µg/l (xylenes, sample B4-H20)to 25 Ig/1 (xylenes, sample B2-
H20) MTBE was not detected in any of the ground water samples, by EPA Method 8020 Fuel
oxygenating compounds,by EPA Method 8260,were not detected in sample 133-11201 other samples
were not analyzed using EPA Method 8260 Table 2 summarizes the analytical data of the `grab'
water samples analyzed
2 3 GROUND WATER DEPTH AND FLOW DIRECTION
The estimated depth to ground water at the property is approximately 10 feet below surface grade
(bsg), based on the map titled Lines of Equal Depth to Groundwater Sprang 1996 published by the
• San Joaquin County Flood Control District and Water Conservation District(FCD&WCD) Based
upon a previous site investigation performed by AGE, ground water depth ranged between 10 and
12 feet bsg
It is Inferred from the map titled Lines of Equal Elevation of Groundwater- Sprang 1996, also
published by the FCD&WCD, that ground water flows toward the northwest in the general area of
the site but this may be modified by changing recharge and discharge patterns Ground water is
considered to be of beneficial use and Is used for domestic, industrial and commercial purposes
3.0. SCOPE OF WORK
Based on the laboratory analysis of soil samples collected and field observations noted during the soil
boring advancement, the hydrocarbon-Impacted soil was encountered in the former dispenser area
Hydrocarbon-impacted ground water was encountered in the inferred down-gradient direction from
the former UST system The proposed interim soil remediation scope of work will include the
following tasks
• Planning and pre-field work activities
• Soil excavation and sample collection/analysis
• Excavation backfilling
• • Soil disposal
Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc
