• 31 August 2000 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 00-0725 <br /> Page 4 of 9 <br /> Soil samples will also be collected from the stockpiled soil from the excavation For soil disposal <br /> characterization,a 4 1 composite soil sample will be collected from every 100 yards of soil excavated <br /> Each soil sample will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services (DHS)- <br /> certified laboratory for the following constituents <br /> • TPH-g by EPA Method 8015 Modified, <br /> • BTEX by EPA Method 8020, and <br /> • Fuel oxygenates including methyl tert-butyl ether(MTBE),tertiary-butyl alcohol(TBA),di- <br /> isopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE) and tertiary-amyl methyl ether <br /> (TAME) by EPA Method 8260 Modified <br /> The laboratory report for soil analyses,testing methods,laboratory quality assurance/quality control <br /> (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with <br /> findings and recommendations <br /> • 3 4 MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND SAMPLING <br /> A total of five ground water monitoring wells will be installed at the site The proposed monitoring <br /> wells will provide repeatable sampling points for monitoring of petroleum hydrocarbon impact to <br /> ground water and allow determination of site-specific ground water flow direction The procedures <br /> for monitoring well installation and collection of soil and ground water samples are presented in <br /> Section 4 4 and Section 4 6,respectively Monitoring well Installation activities are described below <br /> 3 4 1 Permitting and Pre-Field Work Activities <br /> Prior to monitoring well Installation,any applicable well permits will be obtained from the PHS-EHD <br /> Prior to mobilization, each monitoring well location will be clearly marked and a utility clearance <br /> obtained through Underground Service Alert <br /> 3 4 2 Soil Sample Collection and Analysis <br /> During the drilling of the proposed monitoring well borings,soil samples will be collected at five-foot <br /> Intervals from ground surface to the total depth of the borings Field procedures for the collection of <br /> • soil samples are presented in Section 4 4 At least one soil sample from each monitoring well boring <br /> will be analyzed for BTEX and TPH-g, and fuel oxygenating compounds following the protocols <br /> presented in Section 3 3 <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
