ORDER OF EVENTS <br />Upon arrival at the site July 8, 1993, Golden West was preparing to load broken <br />concrete and piping This process went on until about 10 30. At approximately <br />11.00 Ken Kan of Chevron USA Inc arrived, as did Harlin Knoll, San Joaquin <br />County Environmental Health Specialist and William Robinson, Battalion Chief, <br />Tracy Fire Department <br />Tank #1 was filled with Nitrogen at approximately 11.00 by Golden West <br />Readings were taken and Mr Robinson approved tank pull operation The tank <br />was pulled at approximately 11.20 Tank was inspected for damage, none was <br />found Tank was loaded unto transportation provided by the disposal company. <br />Tank was not damaged nor were there any holes evident All dirt was removed <br />from tank prior to loading Labeled # 118411388-1 <br />Belinda Erdelt from Chevron arrived as tank # 1 was being inspected <br />Tank # 2 was removed and loaded at approximately 12 00 p m after the same <br />procedure as Tank # 1 Labeled # 11585/1388-3. <br />Tank # 3 was removed and loaded at approximately 12 30 p m. after the same <br />procedure as Tank # 1 Labeled # 1158611388-2 <br />Tanks # 4,5,6,7,8 were all damaged during the excavation process Tanks were <br />found to be filled with water by Golden West employees. Tanks were pumped <br />dry and water disposed of per Golden West At the time of this tank pull, these <br />tanks had large holes in them They were pulled and loaded unto transport at <br />approximately 1 00 p m They were labeled as follows #4 - 1388-4, #5 -1388-5, <br />#6 - 1388-6, #7 - 1388-7; #8 -1388-8 <br />Soil and ground water samples were then taken from the pit and the stockpiled <br />soil All measurements for sample locations were made below grade as <br />determined by the side walk, except stockpile samples <br />
