Analytical results of the soil sample taken at 40
feet below surface grade (bsg) was 0.0208 parts per million of Methyl tert Butyl
Ether (MTBE). MTBE was not detected in the analyses of the soil samples taken
at 65 feet bsg and 75 feet bsg. However, analytical result of the monitoring well
water sample was 21.1 parts per billion of MTBE by EPA Method 8260.
PHS/EHD agrees with the report's conclusion that the presence of MTBE has
been confirmed in groundwater at this site. PHS/EHD also agrees with the
report's recommendation that additional sampling of this well should continue on
a quarterly monitoring and sampling basis beginning the first quarter of 2000.
If you have any questions please contact Jeffrey Wong at (209) 468-0335.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Jeffrey Wong, REHS Margar Lagorio, RENS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
c: RWQCB, Central Valley Region — Marty Hartzell
c: Cambria - Joe Neely
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
