Box 944212 <br /> Sacramento, CA 94242-2120 <br /> Re: Request for pre-approval of site assessment costs Claim Number 006055, <br /> Wickland Properties site R603, located at 6425 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA. <br /> Dear Sir or Madam: <br /> Western Geo-Engineers (WEGE), on behalf of our client, Wickland Properties, is <br /> requesting pre-approval of costs to implement the directives of the California Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board - Central Valley Region (CRWQCB - CVR) as outlined in <br /> their letter dated July 18, 2000(see Attachment B). <br /> Attachment A contains "Workplan for Vertical and Lateral Extent Sampling <br /> Downgradient of MW12". <br /> Attachment C contains signed copies of San Joaquin County Health approval of <br /> workplan. <br /> Attachment D contains a complete copy of bid request, firms requested to bid and bids <br /> received. <br /> CRWQCB-CVR would not concur with San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Division recommendation for no further action required due to the following: <br /> 1. The lateral and vertical extent of groundwater contamination has not been defined; <br /> 2. The groundwater has not been monitored for all fuel oxygenates and fuel additives; <br /> 3. The status of a domestic water supply well southeast of the site has not been <br /> determined;and <br /> 4. The quarterly groundwater monitoring has not been conducted since January 1999. <br /> All of the above concerns except Item 1. "Lateral and vertical extent of groundwater <br /> contamination has not been defined", have been addressed, see Appendix A- Appendix B <br /> of Workplan "Response to July 18, 2000 Nonconcurrence Letter from California <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board- Central Valley Region" <br /> The following pre-approval is necessary to complete the lateral and vertical extent of <br /> groundwater contamination definition. <br /> 1 <br />
