Q
1 E
Measurement is obtained by attaching a water manometer
to the sample port of the PVC cap and reading
millimeters vacuum at the well .
2 . Depth to water is then measured and recorded after the
Iivacuum measurement .
3 . The well is purged 40-65 gallons using LTT vacuum pump
with dedicated 1 inch PVC stinger to vacuum lift the
water. All purged water is placed into the 1000 gallon
ConVault in the treatment compound.
1
4 . A orifice manifold placed onto the well casing, with
sample ports to measure the differential pressure
'across the orifice and to measure vacuum generated from
the LTT vacuum pump. LTT pulls a vacuum on the well
for two hours and obtains a starting vacuum and
differential reading, a one hour vacuum and
differential reading and a two hour vacuum and
differential reading. A tedlar bag sample of the vapor
stream pulled from the well is obtained at the one hour
measurement and delivered to WEGE for analysis of CO2,
TPHg and BTEX.
5 . The ending depth to water is measured and the well is
secured.
As of January 30, 1996 the bio-venting of MW8 has removed 2 . 27
pounds of gasoline range hydrocarbons and a total of 235 . 69
pounds of carbon, as CO2, see Table 4 .
MW12
Placement of the Regenesis Oxygen Release Compound, ORC filter
socks into MW12 for approximately six months.
1 . Prior to placement of ORC socks, depth to water, and
sampling of the well will be performed. We will
schedule the quarterly sampling for this time .
2 . Dissolved oxygen will be measured from samples taken i
from MW5, MW8, MW11 and MW12 .
3 . Placement of ORC socks will be through 10 feet of the
saturated zone of the well, (50 feet below ground
surface to 60 feet below ground surface) .
4 . Measure dissolved oxygen content monthly in wells MW5,
MW8, MW11 and MW12 .
5 . Remove the ORC socks from MW12 one week prior to ground
water sampling. Replace the ORC socks into MW12 after
sampling has been completed.
6 . After six months, ie . two quarterly sampling events,
complete a report of findings as to the effectiveness
PAGE2 R603-ORC MW12 2-8-96
