WOC upgraded the station with a double contained <br /> product storage and dispensing system. During the removal of the <br /> old underground storage tanks and subsequent assessment, gasoline <br /> range hydrocarbon contamination was found to exist in both the <br /> native soil (vadose zone) and ground water beneath the site. <br /> 1 .1 LOCATION <br /> The station is located at 6425 Pacific Avenue at the intersection <br /> of Douglas Road, in San Joaquin County, Stockton, California. The <br /> site lies in Section 21 ; T2N; R6E; MDB&M at approximately 12 feet <br /> above mean sea level (MSL) (see Figures 1 , 2 , 3, and 3A) . The <br /> parcel is # 31 and can be located in Assessor's Book 97 on page <br /> 41 (97-041-31 ) . <br /> 1 . 2 PREVIOUS REPORT (MAY , 1990 QUARTERLY REPORT) <br /> The following are the conclusions and recommendations of the May, <br /> 1990, Quarterly Update Status report: <br /> CONCLUSIONS <br /> 1 . Based upon the results of our subsurface investigations , <br /> significant ground water contamination exists in monitor <br /> wells MW-1 , MW-2, MW-3, MW-4, MW-6 , MW-8 , MW-9, and MW- <br /> 10 . <br /> 2. The ground water flow direction is to the east, <br /> northeast, but varies with local pumping activities. <br /> 3 . All measurable gasoline product has been recovered from <br /> monitor wells MW-1 and MW-3. <br /> 4. No soil contamination exists in monitor wells MW-1 thru <br /> MI:-B from the surface down to 65 feet below the surface. <br /> 5. Minor soil contamination exists in monitor well MW-9 at <br /> 30 and 45 feet below the surface but is contaminant free <br /> from 50 feet to 65 feet below the surface. <br /> 6. Significant soil contamination exists in monitor well <br /> MW-10 from 40 feet to 50 feet below the surface. <br /> 1 <br />
