WEGE report, January - June 1991 Update Status Report 05,
dated August 16, 1991. Received by PHS/EHD October 2, 1991.
The request to submit semiannual reports, instead of quarterly
reports, is denied. The August 1, 1991 PHS/EHD letter requested
that quarterly reports be submitted no later than the 25th of the
month following the quarters end. The Third Quarter Monitoring
Report (July, August and September 1991) was due October 25, 1991.
Also within the August 1, 1991 PHS/EHD letter was a request that
PHS/EHD receive 48 hours notice prior to sampling. PHS/EHD
inspections of sampling events is an important aspect of local
regulatory oversight as referenced in the Leaking Underground Fuel
Tank (LUFT) Manual.
The fecal coliform test (colilert) is not currently approved by the
state or federal EPA as an accepted standard fecal coliform testing
methodology. Fecal coliform test results (colilert) , included in
the Update Status Report #4 prepared by WEGE, were reported
positive for MW4, MWS, MW7, and MWS; though no lab data sheets were
included. The Update Status Report 15 indicated that MW2, MW4,
MW7, and MW8 were negative for fecal coliform and positive for
total coliform; however, there was not included reference to the
methodology used for fecal/total coliform detection. Continue
quarterly fecal contamination analysis of all monitoring wells
within 50 feet of sanitary sewer lines using approved fecal
• coliform testing methodologies. Please include fecal coliform test
results in contamination tables.
A Dmsutn of Son jo2qutn Cluny Hc2lth Care scmLes
