In <br /> addition,the following precautions should be observed whenever a drill rig is in use: <br /> • Workers must not wear loose clothing, nor leave long hair, boot laces, or jacket ties <br /> uncontrolled while operating moving equipment; <br /> • Hard hats, hearing protection,safety footwear,and eye protections must be worn at all <br /> times; <br /> • Prior to the start of daily operations,the drill rig operator should inspect the drill rig <br /> carefully to be sure that it is suitable for the day's work; <br /> • The drill rig operator will ensure that there is adequate lighting on the rig to enable the <br /> job to be performed safely; <br /> • The drill rig must be equipped with an operable kill switch and personnel must be aware <br /> of restarting procedures; <br /> • All fittings, connections, and hydraulic hoses must be of a standard to operate in a safe <br /> manner; <br /> • At no time will the operator of the drill rig operate the drill controls and add stem while <br /> alone, unless the drill rig is designed to operate as a single person operation; <br /> • Repairs and service must not be attempted while rotary machinery is running; <br /> • If electrical storms can be seen or heard, drilling operation will be shut down until it is <br /> deemed safe by the SSHO. <br /> 3.3.3 Machinery/Moving Parts <br /> Drilling and vacuum equipment may have various motors, booms, and other equipment.These <br /> present a general physical hazard from moving parts. Personnel will stand clear of machinery at <br /> all times unless specific instructions are given by the trained operator, or other person in <br /> Appendices Terraphase Engineering Inc. <br />
