Eleventh Street
Tracy, CA 95376
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) has reviewed the "Quarterly Report - June 1995"
and the "Interim Work Plan" dated August 1995 prepared by Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. for the above referenced site .
The "Quarterly Report - June 1995" states that water in the Tank
No. 2 dewatering storage tank was "treated by carbon filtration,
tested and, following confirmation" discharged to the sanitary
sewer. The laboratory test results of the sampling of the water
after the treatment by carbon filtration are not included in the
report . Please provide PHS/EHD with these laboratory sample
results .
Table 5 of the June 1995 report shows analytical results of water
samples obtained December 16, 1994 . PHS/EHD has not previously
received a report of this sampling so please provide this agency
with the laboratory sample results and other information obtained
during this sampling event . In addition, in future water sample
report tables, please indicate dilution factors for those water
samples that are diluted by the laboratory prior to analysis .
The " Interim Work Plan" proposed to install four soil probings to
assess the extent of contaminated soil still existing in the area
of the former tank location. The "Quarterly Report - June 1995"
states that two or three additional probings be installed near the
southeast corner of the property (current UST location) . Soil
sample results from the current UST location that was excavated in
February 1995 and PHS/EHD inspection reports of the excavation
indicate that soil contamination exists from 10 to 13 feet below
grade in the northwest, west, and southwest portions of that
excavation. PHS/EHD concurs that additional probe locations are
required to investigate the extent of the contaminat --1_- --'--
area of the site .
Soil sample results obtained at the time MW2 and MW3 wer
indicate some soil contamination at 10 feet below grade
no contamination at 10 feet below grade in MW3 . T
information between 10 and 13 feet below grade. The p
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
1
