The working perimeter will be marked by brightly <br /> colored delineators. All unauthorized personnel will not allowed access into <br /> the work space. <br /> The project supervisor will coordinate all field activities and maintain the <br /> safest possible working environment at all times. If an emergency occurs,the <br /> supervisor will immediately contact the proper authorities. <br /> sm <br /> 5.1.2 Skin and Head Protection i <br /> Disposable suits,boots,and gloves will be worn when the working conditions <br /> require such precautions. <br /> r <br /> Disposable plastic gloves will be worn at all times during soil and ground water i <br /> sampling. The gloves will be changed after each sample has been collected. <br /> Used disposable clothing will be properly discarded at the end of each working <br /> L' day. <br /> Hard hats will be worn during drilling,excavation,and otheractivities in <br /> which potentially dangerous equipment is being operated within the work <br /> �. space. <br /> 5.1.3 Face and Respiratory Protection <br /> During drilling and excavation activities,the working air space will be <br /> periodically monitored with either a Photo Ionization Detector(PID)or SKC <br /> Color-Detector Tubes(Draeger Tubes)for gas and vapor content. The PID <br /> measures the total organic compounds(VOCs)vapor concentration while the <br /> _ Detector Tubes measures the levels of specific compounds in the air being <br /> sampled. <br /> Monitoring of the working airspace shall be concentrated around the drilling -- -- -----, <br /> -- _ rig and in the down wind direction. <br /> `a <br /> If working air spare concentrations exceed the Permissibie Exposure Limits, ;r - <br /> then the workers will wear respirators with,organic vapor cartridges. <br /> r <br /> 'i <br />
