�- �1 Stewart's Beacon Property Phase U-Ground Water Assessment Proposal Page: 6 4.10 Chain at Custody Chain of Custody(CofC)forms are legal documents used to track the handling of samples All dates,times,persons and their companies are listed from the time the sample is collected to its ultimate disposal. A CofC form will be filled out for all samples collected. The CofC is tracked to insure sample integrity. -- 4.19 Sample Analysis All samples will be taken to a California certified laboratory at the end of each sampling day. Water samples will be analyzed for BTX by EPAmethod 602 and gasoline. All samples will be taken to A&L Western Agriculture Laboratory at the end of each sampling day. A&L is in the process of becoming certified for hazardous waste analysis and in the mean time they are forwarding samples under CofC to Chroma Lab. Chroma Lab is a State certified analytical laboratory located in San Ramon,Califorrda. Soil samples will be analyzed for BTX and gasoline by EPA method 8020,total lead,and total extractable petroleum hydrocarbons. 2 Dotection Limits The detection limit for BTX is 0.5 mg/l and gasoline is 1 mg/l in water samples. T.Lead total extractable petroleum hydrocarbons I } w i 4.13 Data Reduction Analytical data will be integrated with the geological data gathered during fieid investigation for both phases of investigation. Cross sections and plan view contour maps will be prepared to illustrate the distribution of soil and ground water contamination. These cross sections and maps will be the basis for interpreting the extent of contamination and for developing a recommended future course of action 5.0 HEALTH AND SAFETY PROGRAM Geological Technics has incorporated the following health and safety precautions while working on sites containing unidentified hazardous waste. Once the nature and extent of contamination has been determined,additional work on site will be met with the proper precautions.
