Street for both the remedial action plan and site monitoring. In response to the group meeting
held at the California Regional Water Quality Control Board's (CRWQCB) office in
Sacramento,Geological Technics proposes the following scope of work:
I. Backfill the old tank excavation and bring it up to grade,
2. Install the new underground storsge tank(UST)and pump island sfstem,
3. Install one more down gradient well on the adjacent property to the north,
4. Perform an interim ground water remediation,
5. Initiate a long-term ground water monitoring schedule.
2.0 SITE HISTORY
2.1 Summary of Phase I Assessment
The upper 21 feet of strata was investigated during this project. In this interval, the.
soil is characterized by fine-grained sediments which are dominated by clay-rich
horizons interbedded with thinner silt or sand horizons. Below 20 feet is a silty clay,a
water-bearing,zone of silty and clayey sand is lorated between 20 to 17 feet, and from 17
to 14 feet is a soft wet sandy clay. From 14 up to about 11 or 10 feet is a clayey sand that
is also water-bearing. This sand grades into a silt to the north. Above 11 or 10 feet is a
sandy clay unit that has a Rewe feet of organic rich top soil near the surface.
The ground water gradient is to the north, which is reflected in the rnig'ation path of
contamination,. Analytical data shows that soil or ground water contamination has not
