The well will be constructed of 2-inch threaded-joint PVC pipe (schedule si0) <br /> that is perforated from the bottom of the well to about 0.5 feet above the water table. <br /> Number 3 sand will be used to create a filter pack that extends from the bottom of the <br /> well to 2 fee►above the perforated zone. Three feet of bentonite pellets and granular <br /> bentonite will be emplaced above the filter pack in the annular space. Extending from <br /> above the annular bentonite seal up to grade will be cement grout consisting of quickgel <br /> and neat cement. The monitoring well will be secured <br /> cementing in a water tight well box and a lockinand a surface seal obtained by <br /> monitoring well is shown in Figure 3. g P Construction of a typical <br /> 5.6 Monitoring Well Development <br /> Each monitoring well will be developed before a water sample is collected. This will <br /> — be accomplished by pumping until clear ground water is obtained and then removing an <br /> additional 5 well volumes. Where time-endurance sampling procedures are used, <br /> ground water will be pumped over a period of several hours with samples being <br /> collected periodically throughout the course ofum to .
