IPage 2 of 3
a couple of the wells. So over drill is the plan.
'. Brenda and Chris are available next week on Thursday and Friday the 23rd and 24th. How about
you? Please reply to all so we can all set our schedules based upon your response!
John
209-603-3394
---= Original Message-----
From: Mike Infurna [EH] [mailto:MInfurna@sjcehd_com]
Sent: Monday, July 13, 2009 9:46 AM
To: jlynch@wrightenvironmentalservices.,com
Cc: Brenda._crawford@Patc-usa.com_
Subject: Cox and Cox
John, Brenda
I
hope you're well..
John, I finally got the Tracy HS access agreement and your single application for
the well destructions.
The EHD requires permits-per-parcel for borings/destructions but will allow
offsite MW-4 to be included with the ONSITE application you submitted. You
just saved $375.
Additionally, the EHD requires wells with contamination to have the contents of
the well removed (over-bored). You weren't clear on which ones you plan on
pressure grouting or over boring. But I'll approve the following.
Based on the most recent gw data (Jan 2008), and due to petroleum hits above
levels of concern (MCLS or 100 ug/1 for TPH), these four wells are to be
overbored to TD+1 foot: MW-2, 6, 7, and 9R.
MW-2 is a 4-inch well and was put in with 10-inch augers and 10-inch augers or
larger must be used to over bore it out. j
MW-6, 7, & 9R are 2-inch wells installed with 8-inch auger and you may use 8-
inch augers to overbore them out.
i
I'm also waiving the over-bore requirement for ALL wells. Typically
wells located in "an area of known contamination" must have their contents
removed. It's a toss up whether over boring in quicker or cheaper than the labor
intensive pressure grouting. You have to make that choice John. Since pressure
grouting requires a 'mushroom cap' of grout near the surface, many consultants
have told me after that they should have just drilled them out after seeing the
costs of the labor to dig out the soil to place the cap. the required dimensions for
7/14/2009
