After receiving permission from the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Division (verbal communication with Ms.
Linda Turkate) , WEGE personnel distributed the stockpiled soil
onto the surface of a planting strip along the southern edge of
the property on September 7, 1993 .
Disposal of Drummed Rinse and Purcted Water
Four 55 gallon drums of water remained at the site. This waste
water included ground water that had been generated from the
purging of monitor wells during development and sample collection
and some additional rinse water from previous drilling and
grouting operations.
Certified laboratory results from the most current ground water
sampling at the site were provided to the City of Tracy sewage
treatment plant as a chemical profile of the drummed waste water.
WEGE personnel transported and discharged this drummed water to
the City of Tracy sewage treatment plant ponds on September 7,
1993 . Mr. Frank Motzkes supervised the disposal of the waste
water at the Tracy sewage treatment plant .
Site Closure
The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB)
recently reviewed files for the site provided by the San Joaquin
County Public Health Services. In a letter to Mr. John Rutherford
of Desert Petroleum dated August 17, 1993, the RWQCB concurred
with San Joaquin County's recommendation of April 12, 1993 that no
further investigation, remedial or removal action, or monitoring
was necessary at this time (see Appendix) .
The San Joaquin County Public Health Services provided Desert
Petroleum final confirmation of the completion of site
investigation and remedial action for the underground storage
tanks in a letter to Mr. John Rutherford dated September 10,
1993 (see Appendix) .
Sincerely yours,
George Converse David Threlfall
Pro ' ct Manager Geologist
2
