Box 1601
Oxnard, CA 93032
(805) 644-6784
RE: MAY, 1990, GROUND WATER SAMPLING AT DESERT PETROLEUM
SERVICE STATION #787, 950 11th Street, Tracy, San Joaquin
County, California, Section 29;T2S;R5E; MDB&M.
Dear Far. Rutherford:
This report is being provided as documentation of our recent
ground water sampling conducted on May 23, 1990, The project
site is located in Section 29; T2S; RSE; MDB&M on the corner of
11th Street and 9th Street, in Tracy, California.
The purpose of this investigation was to ascertain the quality of
ground water beneath the site by: 1) recording depth to water (by
use of a resistivity meter) for each monitor well; 2
and "containment" (secured, labeled 55 gallon drum) ) ofpuground
water for each well; 3) collecting water samples from each well;
4) submit::-., these samples to a State Certified Analytical testing
laboratory via es*ablished "chain of custody"
determining the ground water direction. Thesepwateausamplesnwere
analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) and Volatile
Aromatic Hydrocarbons (BTEX) using modified EPA Methods 8015 and
502 respectively.
SITE INVESTIGATION
The ground water was sampled in three monitoring wells by a
Western Geo-Engineers (WEGE) geologist. Surface elevation, depth
to water and ground water elevation were recorded for each well
(WEGE: TABL.: 1) .
wells. No floating product was observed in any of the
Each well was sampled after (approximately 2 1/2 gallons)
of water were removed; the "purged" water was "contained" in a
labeled, secured 55 gallon drum on site. From the well
information, a ground water contour surface was plotted and a flow
direction inferred (Figure 4I) .
I
