Burick
Addendum II B.C.&D. Properties
Project No. 01-5.1
April 13,1992
Page 3
The groundwater samples will be analyzed for BTEX and TPH-Gasoline by EPA
method 602 and 8015M/LUFT respectively at GeoAnalytical Laboratories in Modesto.
The detection limit for the EPA 602 (BTEX) analysis ranges from 0.3 to 0.6 deg/l in
water and the detection limit for the TPH-Gasoline analysis is 0.5 mg/l.
Recommendations
In light of the site's low levels of contamination and it's natural ability for
hydrocarbon attenuation by the microbial breakdown conditions present in the
shallow groundwater; Geological Technics -Inc. recommends that water quality
analyses be augmented by monitoring the dissolved oxygen and carbon dioxide
content of the groundwater. Biological degradation of hydrocarbons in the
groundwater would be marked by increased levels of carbon dioxide in comparison
to background levels (non contaminated up gradient well, MW-3).
Respectfully submitted,
d eQFfssr
GEOLOGICAL TECHNICS INCR1 KAMANOW j`cFoo
Raynold I.
