-------------------
Former Discovery Chevrolet June 5, 1998
Tracy,California Corrective Action Plan
Any residual dissolved gasoline hydrocarbons present in the groundwater will likely undergo
biodegredation. Groundwater systems generally have a diverse population of native
microorganisms, some of which are predisposed to consuming hydrocarbon compounds. If
the native microorganisms have a food source of petroleum hydrocarbons, the species of
microorganisms best adapted to use the hydrocarbon food source will multiply to a
population that can be supported by the food source. The remedial system at this site will
effectively consist of the existing natural microorganisms present in the subsurface
groundwater system.
If after two quarters of groundwater sampling to verify the effectiveness of the remedial
work, decreasing concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons are detected in the groundwater
beneath the site, it is Horizon's opinion that the site would qualify as a low-risk site and
should be granted closure and the monitoring wells destroyed.
1-3 j
.ff
7.0 DISTRIBUTION
A copy of this report should be forwarded to:
Mr. Jeffrey Wong 1 Ms. Margaret Lagorio Mr. Pat Anderson
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Regional Water Quality Control Board
Environmental Health Division Central Valley Region
304 E.
