-
.,
.f
x
f
x
F
RECOMMENDATIONS
To further evaluate the extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil and groundwater
underlying UNOCAL Bulk Plant No.0788,PACIFIC proposes the installation of three
additional groundwater monitoring wells at the locations shown on Figure 6. The
proposed monitoring well adjacent to the warehouse will provide upgradient
information on background hydrocarbon concentrations. The proposed well located
north of the bulk tanks will evaluate the downgradient extent of hydrocarbons. .The
r well proposed west of the above-ground storage tanks is intended to provide lateral
definition of the dissolved hydrocarbons present in the groundwater. Four shallow soil
borings will also be drilled at the locations shown on Figure 6 to further evaluate the
source and extent of hydrocarbons in the soils underlying the site.
s A quarterly groundwater sampling and analyticalprogram has been implemented. The '
3
data obtained from the installation and sampling of the site wells (including WSW-1)
4 will be utilized for geologic and hydrologic characterization of the site, in addition to
further defining the extent of hydrocarbon migration.
f
i
' L
6
i F
J
4 yf
y
k
3100101/REPORT 8 February 13,1991
