(2). The use will not significantly displace or impair current or reasonably foreseeable agricultural
operations on the subject contracted parcel or parcels or on other contracted lands in agricultural
preserves. Uses that significantly displace agricultural operations on the subject contracted
parcel or parcels may be deemed compatibie if they relate directly to the production of
commercial agricultural products on the subject contracted parcel or parcels or neighboring lands,
including activities such as harvesting, processing, or shipping.
• This principle can be made because the use will not significantly displace or impair
current or reasonably foreseeable agricultural operations on the subject contracted parcel
or on other contracted lands in agricultural preserves asthe stable's size of 24,864 square
feet relative to the existing agricultural operation of 30.6 acres allows continued grazing of
the parcel and the surrounding area. Due to its size, it is unlikely the n6vr,stable will result
in a significant removal of adjacent land, nor will the stable bring'a significant amount'of
additional people to the property.
(3). The use will not result in the significant removal of adjacent contracted land from agricultural or
open-space'use. In evaluating compatibility a board or council shall consider the impacts on non-
contracted lands in the agricultural preserve or preserves.
• This principle can be made because the proposed use for a commercial horse stable, which
is a conditionally permitted use in the AG-40, will encourage continued agricultural uses in
the area. Therefore it will not result in the significant removal of adjacent contracted land
from agricultural or open-space use.
San Joaquin County PA-11000131Burkart
Community Development Page 5
