GROUND WATER DEPTH AND TESTING
i There is an operating well at the north end of the parcel. Depth to ground water was measured on June
3, 1991 at 62 feet. According to the map of "Lines of Equal Depth to Water in Wells" published spring 1990
by the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, the depth to groundwater at this
location is between 50 and 60 feet.
A water sample was obtained from the well at 12:45 am on May 13, 1990. The sample was submitted
to the laboratory and tested for the presence of EDB (ethelylene dibromide) and DBCP (dibromo
chloropropane).which are soil fumigants used in vineyards. A copy of the test results is contained in the
Appendix. The results indicate that both substances tested for were not detected or below the MCL (maximum
concentration limit) allowed by law.
V1. SOIL PROFILE AND PERCOLATION TESTS
A test pit was excavated to a depth of 10 feet at the approximate site of the proposed septic system in
order to determine the soil profile. The test pit was excavated with a Cat 416 backhoe equipped with a 24 inch
bucket. Visual classification of each soil stratum encountered was made in the field by a civil engineer at the
time the test pit was excavated. A description of each soil encountered is contained in the Appendix as Log of
Test Pit.
pERS0
2 lip
z w
Q
P
4$Soc
f
