February 10, 2005
NOA Project Number: E05001A
3.7 Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage
Maximum expected usage would be to serve the proposed community care home. No additional
strictures are planned. Septic system design should be based on the On-Site Wastewater Disposal
Standards or other engineering recommendations.
Maximum expected usage would be for fourteen patients and.nine staff which occupy the building
" each day. These assumptions are further discussed in Part II, Section 3, of the Nitrate Loading
Study.
F
F1 4.0 GROUND WATER.INFORMATION
4.1 Ground Water Depth and Gradient
The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (1998 and 1999) ground
water depth and elevation maps were reviewed to determine the ground water levels near the Site.
The Fall 1998 and Spring 1999 maps are the most current official-reaps'available from the County.
According to these maps (Plates 3-6),ground water lies betwee 10`and A feet below ground
surface and flows at a gradient of 10 feet per mile to the north ir-te vicinity of the Site.
No g
..,,,-.-...asf',ew P9w.-ter- ^.:-a7 ,'F r+ rte' - •"fir•
roundwater was ecounterdby;the.staff of Neil O:;:Andetson 8&Associates, Inc duing'tlze.
-.., n•iaLr k ` '''`."}7F rr ?- t(c''r 3}. ja-' .+ees r..` .. Potential ground-water contamination can occur from a number of sources
which often include leaky underground storage tanks, agricultural activities, dairies, septic systems,
and storm water infiltration. Agricultural activities and the use of septic systems in the area should
be considered potential.ground-water contamination sources.
-, .4.3 Water Sample Location
No water sample was available for collection at this site due to the non-operating water well. The
existing water well does not operate due to the disconnected power service to the property. In an
Fiattempt, a 15 foot soil boring was excavated with a hand auger to sample the ground water directly.
No shallow ground water was encountered, therefore no water sample was collected.
Fi
5.0 SOIL PROFILE AND GEOLOGIC INFORMATION
The Site is depicted on the USGS Geologic Map of the San Francisco - San Jose Quadrangle as the
f' 1 $
A y -
