Utilities
Stockton Metropolitan Airport is a former military facility and had major utilities installed
to serve this facility. Since World War Il portions of these systems have either been
abandoned or altered. The maps depicting the existing utilities that are in service on the
# airport were prepared in 1977 by R. Dixon Speas Associates. These drawings still
represent the existing facilities except for the gas distribution system. The Speas drawings
are reproduced in this report to show existing utilities. The Gas Distribution Plan has
been updated to show existing conditions. The drawings from the R. Dixon Speas report
which are included in this section are as follows:
R. Sanitary Sewer System (See Drawing SCK 3)
The present sewer system was constructed by the military in 1942 and consists of
lines ranging in diameter from 6 inches to 18 inches. The 18-inch line originally
delivered the sewage into the airport's primary treatment plant. This treatment
- plant has since been abandoned and the sewage is delivered to the City of
f Stockton's main lines and treated in the City of Stockton's main facilities. The
City of Stockton has contracted to handle up to 1,300,000 gallons per day of
sewage effluent generated on airport property.
iE 2. Water Distribution (See Drawing SCK 4)
Current water supply for the Stockton Metropolitan Airport is provided by the City
of Stockton from two wells located on the airport property and from City water
mains on adjoining properties. City of Stockton distribution lines form a network
throughout the old military base from the Air National Guard facility to the airline
V passenger terminal.
I'
3-6
