H. Fire Protection
Fire protection is provided by the Montezuma Fire District. The Montezuma Fire District
currently has two fire stations, one of which is located on the airport and the other at
2405 South B Street in Stockton, California. They have a working staff of four full-time
personnel and 15 on-call reserve fire fighters. The airport station has a 750-gallon Triple
Combination Fire Apparatus Pumper and two 1,500-gallon Oshkosh Crash Rescue
Vehicles which are fully operational and include all required extrication equipment.
The Montezuma Fire District is funded by a per-square-foot levee on all buildings
constructed in the area. There will, therefore, be adequate funding available as
development of the airport and airport commercial/industrial area takes place to finance
any required increases in the Montezuma Fire District's facilities and personnel. The
Montezuma Fire District also has mutual aid plans with outlying areas to provide aid in
case of emergency.
On-site emergency service and equipment are available to handle fire, crash, and fuel-oil
spills, and with the mutual aid agreements with the Sheriff's Department and other outside
agencies, they can adequately handle all emergencies that may develop at the airport. In
addition, with the increased funding available from the per-square-foot levee, the
Montezuma Fire District can adequately expand to accommodate any anticipated
development on the airport property.
As Exhibit 8-B a letter dated 7-18-97 from the Fire Chief of the Montezuma Fire District
sets forth the capabilities of the Montezuma Fire District to support airport development.
r
I
s
1
8-7
i
