The soils of these
parcels appear to be suitable for a septic system utilizing shallow leach lines or a filter bed.
I
6.8 Discussion of Septic System Sizing
Septic system construction should follow the San Joaquin County On-Site IWasteivater Disposal
Standards where applicable. Please see methods of mitigation section in the Nitrate Loading Study
r- attached to this report for septic system layout.
I
7.0 CONCLUSIONS
In summary, satisfactory percolation rates of the soil were achieved in the proposed septic disposal
areas of the parcels. The proposed Parcels 1 and 2 appear suitable for a standard septic system.
No ground water was encountered in any of the borings drilled on the property. The depth to
ground water was found to be approximately 15 to 30 feet below the ground surface for the period
of Fall 1998 and Spring 1999. The on-site water wells were tested for nitrate and DBCP. DBCP
was non-detectable in the well, and the nitrate concentration in ground water was found to be 55.0
mg/L-NO3 which exceeds the maximum contaminant drinking water limit of 45 mg/L-NO3. We
recommend not drinking the well water until the well is repaired or replaced and water quality is
`! within drinking water standards. You should contact the EHD for more details regarding health
issues and repair/replacement options.
J
Fi
0
9
0
